Chesfield Downs golf club

It took nine of our staff just ten days to complete the work at Chesfield Downs golf club. We completed the final preparation work of the area using a harley rake and chain harrows and then installed 51,000 metres of turf in both 600mm and 1200mm roll size.

The driving range was closed for a week during this time as the nets had to be removed for the work to be carried out. The driving range is in the shape of a bowl with steep banks to the rear of the range and this was therefore a challenging job. The bank areas were installed using the 600mm rolls as the areas were too steep to use the tractor and 1200mm machine.

Even though the summer hadn’t been very dry, the challenge for the head green keeper was to get sufficient water onto this large area of installed turf.
