Moving mountains? All in a week-end’s work for Inscapes

Well it wasn’t exactly a mountain but it certainly was a challenge. The Wentworth Course in Surrey is undergoing major reconstruction works which entails  the greens being demolished and replaced completely. On Thursday 11th June we were contacted by Celtic Manor’s Director of Golf Jim Mckenzie to see if we could send a team to remove the turf from his practice green at the 2010 Ryder Cup course, and then collect turf from Wentworth Golf Course in Surrey that he wished to replace it with. When did the work need doing? Right then of course! Thereafter the schedule went like this (shown in the pictures 1 to 5)

Friday 12th June: we removed the surface from the practice green with our Korro.
Saturday 13th June: a team of 5 staff with two lorries and assorted equipment lift the turf off the Wentworth greens and stack them onto pallets to deliver them to Celtic Manor.
Sunday 15th June: we sent a lorry to collect the final load so it was all on site for Celtic manor’s own staff today, Monday 15th June – less than 96 hours after the original ‘phone call.  And that’s what we mean when we talk about customer service!
