Tony Horne joins Inscapes

Tony Horne - Sales Manager

One of the best known characters in British groundsmanship is joining us as sales manager to help us cope with the increased demand for its sports pitch construction services. Tony Horne was at the Wales national stadium from 1985 to 2004 and played a key role in the transition from Cardiff Arms Park to the Millennium Stadium. More recently he has been working at Pyle and Kenfig Golf Course.

“I’m absolutely thrilled to be joining Inscapes at a time when the scope of their work is expanding and their reputation is just getting better all the time,” says Tony. “Their achievement at Pemberton Stadium for the new Scarlet’s pitch is fantastic.”

As visitors to this site will know we have recently undergone a period of rapid growth, expanding our operations from  traditional landscape construction and maintenance work, to undertake installation projects at The Belfry, Celtic Manor, Marriot St Pierre, Nefyn and Renaissance Golf Clubs and at Twickenham and the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff. More recently we undertook the full construction of the first fibre elastic rugby pitch in the UK including installation of drainage, irrigation and under soil heating systems.

“These are very exciting times for our company and we’re delighted that someone of Tony’s experience and stature is on board,” says our Chief Executive Gareth Rees.

Last week our staff returned to Twickenham and worked on approximately one-fifth of the pitch, which had previously been korrowed off in readiness for a concert.  The area was restored to its international standard by Inscapes staff who prepared the ground before laying super wide roll turf on the area.
